Hotel Review: Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers “Great Location, Friendly Staff”

Hotel Review: Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers "Great Location, Friendly Staff"

My Mom and I were in Chicago for the 2013 BlogHer conference from July 24th to July 28th, 2013 inclusively and we stayed at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers where part of the conference we were attending was held.  We got the BlogHer conference rate for the hotel which was $209.  I was pleased to find out that free WiFi was included in our rate.  WiFi is not included in all the rates and is generally charged separately.

If you do not get the WiFi included in the price they charge you $14 a day, but if you go and sit in the lobby it is free.  The lobby is great and there is plenty of seating and places to recharge you electronic equipment.

On the day of our departure for the conference we got to the airport and were told our plane was delayed.   I called the hotel to let them know we were going to be getting in very late and it was easy to reach someone who immediately put a note on our file so our reservation was not given away or cancelled.  We finally arrived at the hotel at 10:30 PM and the reception staff was friendly, helpful and outstanding overall.

We were given a room on the 20th floor and I was concerned we would have trouble waiting for the elevators, but the elevators were quick and always available.  Our room was a decent sized, clean, with two comfy queen beds.  They were covered with duvets and the pillows were perfect.

The bathroom was extremely clean and had a large mirror and outlets for hairdryers.  The bathtub was a decent size and the shower’s water pressure was perfect.

The concierge desk is well staffed and always willing to help.  Because we were at a conference and we were going to several locations around the city we needed that help! And help they did – by offering detailed instructions and drawing helpful maps.

There is a gym that looked very nice but I did not have the opportunity to try.  There is also a pool and although we brought our bathing suits we were too busy to take a swim.

The location of the hotel is perfect – quiet and near the river and also a short walk to anywhere we wanted to go.  There are many restaurants close by as well as being very close to the Magnificent Mile shops.  Whenever we left the hotel there were always plenty of taxis available if we needed to catch one.

Mom and I loved the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers and would highly recommend it to any of our readers and we will go back there again.
